With the addition of the Goremit feature to its eWallet by Touch ‘n Go (TNG), customers can now send money to receivers across ten other countries.
Users have the option of sending money to a recipient’s bank account, an electronic wallet, or a site where they may pick up cash; however, some alternatives are only accessible in specific nations.
For instance, Singapore only allows bank account transfers, whereas only the Philippines offers all three alternatives.
The list of countries includes Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Pakistan, Nepal, Indonesia, Bangladesh and India.
While bank account transfers can take up to 24 hours for the money to be credited, eWallet and cash pick-up transfers only take 15 minutes.
Users must first browse to the financial services tab in the TNG eWallet app and touch on the Goremit symbol in order to access the service.
The amount, which is automatically converted into the currency of the selected country, the transfer method, and the country are then chosen by the user. The transfer charge will also be shown on this screen.
The recipient’s information, including first and last name, phone number, and relationship to the sender, will then be requested by the app.
Depending on which option was chosen, users can then enter the recipient’s banking information, eWallet information, or cash pickup location.
It is important to keep in mind that using Goremit will result in service fees that range from RM8 to RM15 and depend on the nation and transfer method.
A minimum transfer amount of RM50 is also available, and there are options to save up to 10 receivers and check both current and previous transfers.
