Wicker collects the leadership award from the US Contract Tower Association as well as the 2023 Golden Triangle Regional Airport.
The Golden Triangle Regional Airport leadership award for 2023 has a new winner, as has the U.S. Contract Tower Association Leadership award.
The honour was given to Senator Roger Wicker in celebration for his outstanding leadership, service, and role as a vocal supporter of airports in Mississippi and around the nation.
According to Brad Van Dam, Executive Director of USCTA, Wicker has fought to improve safety at small airports in Mississippi and across the nation.
Executive Director of Golden Triangle Regional Airport Matt Dowell claims that under his guidance, Mississippi’s airport development and aviation safety have both improved.
Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi received the 2023 Leadership Award from the U.S. Contract Tower Association (USCTA), which manages contract tower issues with Congress, the Department of Transportation, the Federal Aviation Administration, and other agencies, on July 12.
The award was given to Wicker by Golden Triangle Regional Airport Director Matt Dowell, A.A.E., and USCTA’s Brad Van Dam in honour of his outstanding leadership and service as well as his role as a vocal supporter of airports in Mississippi and around the nation.
“Senator Wicker has been a particularly strong proponent of the FAA Contract Tower Program and has worked to enhance safety at small airports in Mississippi and around the country,” said USCTA Executive Director Brad Van Dam. “We’re grateful for his continued leadership.”
“On behalf of USCTA, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to both for their hard work and dedication,” Van Dam said. “Because of their tireless efforts, USCTA was able late last year to convince Congress to pass the CONTRACT Act, a bill that will help address staffing challenges at contract tower airports.”
