Key Background:

In CES 2025, LG announced its new high-end OLED TVs: G5 and M5 models. For this purpose, its goal will be about improving image quality and gaming performance as well as the whole experience of users in general. Both major enhancements over predecessor models come through more radiant displays, AI, and revolutionary near-wireless configuration in the case of the M5 model.

The LG G5 and M5 feature 4K OLED panels, utilizing Brightness Booster Ultimate from LG which makes their displays a bright light emission-40% better than that in the G4 and three times brighter than B5. This display also offers an advanced picture quality, now enhanced by Alpha 11 AI processor and accompanied by Perfect Color technology to consistently deliver a lot more color. Both of these TVs are also UL certified with “Perfect Black” so are likely to throw some very dark blacks and extremely immersive view.

One of the excellent features of M5 is the Zero Connect Box. It has a “visually lossless” wireless connection, so users can enjoy 4K gaming at 144Hz without cluttering up with wires, except for the power connection, of course. G5 supports refresh rate upto 165Hz and is the first TV certified for both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD Free Sync Premium, which makes it great for gamers.

Both come in with Filmmaker Mode with Ambient Light Compensation, which means however one might prefer their environmental conditions, they would be guaranteed the best viewing. LG brings multiple AI-driven capabilities, in the form of AI-based troubleshooting along with a chatbot, AI-based content recommendations, and even AI-generated art. It would all be there and accessible via a new AI remote. While not as pricey as LG’s transparent OLED T, the M5 and G5 will still fetch a premium of above $3,000 and $5,000 respectively. The new models help LG strengthen its leadership in the premium TV market, further offering advancements in brightness, gaming, and AI capabilities.
