Ed Sheeran is raising funds for the London Irish Centre through a global raffle, offering fans a chance to meet him at his concert in Larnaca, Cyprus, on September 7. A longtime patron of the Centre, Sheeran is directing all proceeds from the raffle towards the Centre’s initiatives, which include welfare services, social engagement, and cultural activities.
The raffle prize includes concert tickets, signed memorabilia, flights, and accommodation. Details can be found at londonirishcentre.org. Sheeran expressed his personal connection to the cause, saying, “My grandmother used the London Irish Centre a lot, and it will always be a safe haven for the Irish community in London. My Irish heritage is the reason I play music, and supporting the Centre’s services through this campaign means a lot to me. A massive thank you to everyone who enters the raffle. Hopefully, I’ll see you at the gig in Larnaca!”
Séamus MacCormaic, CEO of the London Irish Centre, expressed gratitude for Sheeran’s support, stating, “The London Irish Centre relies heavily on donations, especially now as we support more people than ever facing poverty, mental health issues, social isolation, and digital exclusion. Each raffle entry helps us provide essential community services and a vibrant cultural and educational programme. Thank you to Ed, his team, and everyone who enters.”
Next year marks the 70th anniversary of the London Irish Centre, which stands as the largest Irish community centre outside of Ireland and the biggest Irish welfare charity in Britain.
